Explore the joy of creative writing in a supportive, playful, and productive environment. Those brand new to creative writing as well as experienced writers are welcome!

About the Class

Explore the joy of creative writing in a supportive, playful, and productive environment. Participants will experiment with a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction, and personal essay. Each week includes time for in-class writing with a prompt, opportunities to share work, and short presentations on writing craft. Those brand new to creative writing as well as experienced writers are welcome.


Instructor: Lesley Hyatt teaches writing and mindfulness to students of all ages. She holds an MFA in English and fiction writing and is the author of myriad essays, short stories, and poems. Hyatt received an Outstanding Instructor award for her work as a creative writing instructor at UMass, Amherst. She is a former Fulbright Scholar.
