    Wellness at the Skirball: Brain, Body, Soul

    Thursdays, May 1–29, 11:00 am–12:30 pm

    The Jewish commandment of sh'mirat haguf is to “guard yourself and your soul.” With this mitzvah as our guide, this course will include both light movement and exercise, and a discussion on a broad range of wellness topics, including brain health, nutrition, movement, and daily rhythm (how to have a productive and meaningful day).

    Creative Writing at the Skirball: Poetry and Short Stories

    Tuesdays, May 6–June 24, 12:00–2:30 pm

    Whether you're a novice or experienced creative writer, this opportunity to explore short stories and poetry includes the beginning, development, and revision of at least one short story and two poems. We will work with published stories and poems to better understand elements of craft in these genres.

    Skirball Movie Group: Comic Books on Film

    Tuesdays, May 6–June 17, 7:30–9:00 pm (ONLINE)

    Examine the cultural impact of comic books and how their visions transformed modern storytelling in surprising ways. Each session features curated films that illuminate different aspects of comic book artistry and narrative.
