Warm nights and cool tunes reign supreme as the Skirball rounds out its summer music series with its first-ever DJ dance party featuring Jauretsi and Tosstones.

About the Program

Whether you want to dance all night or enjoy the Skirball's summertime oasis, help us close out the Skirball's 2024 Sunset Concerts series with an unforgettable DJ dance party! 

The Skirball welcomes master DJs Jauretsi and Tosstones to remix our Sunset Concerts series with classic and modern tunes that will keep you joyfully buzzing all night long. Surrounded by like-minded revelers, you'll find yourself drawn to the dance floor, where the energy is contagious and your cares will melt away. Or simply relax and soak up the ambiance with friends and family. 


Evening Schedule

Doors open at 6:00 pmIn addition to dancing the night away in Taper Courtyard, you're invited to eat, drink, shop, and see current exhibitions.

  • 6:00–8:00 pm: DJ Jauretsi performs in Taper Courtyard.
  • 6:00–10:00 pm: Throughout the night, enjoy raspados (Mexican shaved ice) and elotes (Mexican street corn), samosas, and fresh fruit from local vendors available for purchase in Taper Courtyard.
  • 8:00–10:00 pm: DJ Tosstones performs in Taper Courtyard.
  • 9:00 pm: Event check-in closes. Please plan to arrive before this time to guarantee entry.

About the Artists

Jauretsi (ha-ret-see) is a multi-hyphenate content creator and culture builder with a passion for music. Heavily influenced by her Cuban roots, Jauretsi's DJ and music curation services span two decades, including a past radio show on Latin Funk for Miss Lily's in Soho New York, and collaborations with musicians, including Pharrell Williams, Questlove, and Major Lazer

In her publishing days, Jauretsi wrote for boundary-pushing outlets like Paper, Details, and Jane magazine, where she also served as Entertainment Editor. With an editor's eye, Jauretsi spearheaded a mix of articles, events, initiatives, newsletters, and social media strategies to build community. She's since written, directed, or produced for clients including New York Times' T Magazine, eBay's The Inside Source, The Standard Hotel Culture, Soho House (West Coast US), and more.

TossTones profile

Tosstones Aponte is a GRAMMY-nominated musician, composer, and producer. His artistry has no boundaries because of his ability to create, direct, and perform. The trail blazer has been able to build a successful career as an independent artist and band leader organically. 

Growing up in Puerto Rico, the richness of percussion and dance shaped every aspect of his expression. Tosstones merges salsa, hip-hop, reggaeton, Caribbean music, Afrobeats, jazz, and more. Tosstones has made major noise in Hollywood for being a part of the creative team behind Bad Bunny’s 2023 GRAMMYs performance, Mexican icon Marisela's world tour (2021–2022), Elvis Crespo's “Suavemente” 25th anniversary on Univision TV (2020). He received Best Jazz Album (GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY) nominations for his collaboration on David Sanchez ’s Carib album (2019).
