About the Exhibition

Journey into the past and discover what we have in common with people who lived thousands of years ago! This permanent exhibition is supported by our participatory outdoor Archaeology Dig.

  • In the Discovery Center gallery, learn about human history through the study of archaeology. Featuring archaeological artifacts from the ancient Near East and replicas of pieces from the renowned collections of the Israel Museum and Israel Antiquities Authority, exhibits reveal ancient trade routes, burial practices, methods of communication, and more.
  • Track down the Hands on History touch cart to get a real feel for the ancient world and learn about the many things that connect us to the past. Note: The Hands on History cart is wheeled out every Thursday.
  • At the Archaeology Dig, roll up your sleeves and imagine you are an archaeologist! Sift and sort to find replicas of ancient artifacts buried in sand pits, weigh and examine your findings, and analyze clues to discover what we have in common with people who lived three thousand years ago. Note: The Archaeology Dig is open until 4:15 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only.
