About the Series

Drawing on Jewish traditions, this series of workshops introduces classroom teachers to Skirball’s Visions and Values Curriculum and invites participants of all cultural backgrounds to explore their family histories, create original works of art, and become agents of change. During this series, teachers use arts-integration techniques that foster social and emotional competencies, creative problem-solving, and collaboration in their classroom:

  • Participate in hands-on artist-led workshops.
  • Gain access to standards-aligned teacher resources developed by teaching artists and inspired by artwork featured in the Visions and Values Curriculum.
  • Gain tools to design your own interdisciplinary lessons that use primary sources and support core content across subject areas.
  • Build lasting relationships with a community of local educators.

These workshops are inspired by the Skirball's Visions and Values Curriculum and focus on English language arts strategies that encourage active listening, creativity, and empathy building.
