About the Program

Now online—Be an informed citizen! Ahead of the midterm primaries, learn more about issues impacting our world using resources from the nonpartisan Foreign Policy Association.

This discussion group will cover the following topics under the direction of an experienced facilitator:

  • The social, economic, and environmental impact of global demographic changes
  • The United States’ place in space exploration
  • The United States’ role in climate change negotiations
  • The relationship between Russia and the United States
  • The Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ response to unrest in Myanmar
  • The Quad Alliance and its efforts to contain China
  • The roots of today’s dominant drug policies in Latin America
  • The international economy and its impact on the supply chain
  • The Biden administration’s response to the pandemic and foreign alliances

Moderator: Adele Lander Burke, Former Skirball Vice President, Public Programs, has a BA in political science from Washington University, St. Louis, and an MA in education from Hebrew Union College, Los Angeles. Burke has been facilitating current events discussion groups for several years.
