About the Program
Consider the complex relationships between Jewish values and American immigration during the Skirball Cultural Center’s inaugural Howard I. Friedman Memorial Lecture, named for the Skirball’s founding chairman.
Skirball President and CEO Jessie Kornberg will join in conversation with UCLA PhD candidate Max Modiano Daniel, the recipient of the Howard I. Friedman Memorial Graduate Essay Prize. Together, the two will weave family histories, biblical narratives, and national politics into a thoughtful and layered discussion about American Jewish experiences.
Following the program, attendees are invited to honor Mr. Friedman’s memory during a reception and celebrate his legacy by exploring the exhibitions.
