An Evening with the National Book Awards

Wednesday, May 17, 8:00 p.m.

About the Program

Celebrate the National Book Awards at an evening of literature, conversation, and cocktails copresented by the Skirball and the National Book Foundation. The National Book Awards are among the most prestigious prizes for American literature, annually honoring the country’s most notable authors of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and young people’s literature. Listen as recent winners and finalists—Robin Coste Lewis, Viet Thanh Nguyen, and Karan Mahajan—read from their works and discuss the role of the writer in uncertain times. Moderated by David Ulin.

Presented cabaret-style with cocktails and light fare available for purchase. Books also available for purchase. A Q&A and book signing follow the program.
